Job Overview: The IFC Regional Industry Director for Infrastructure & Natural Resources (INR) will play a pivotal role in leading and executing the INR strategy across North, West, and Central Africa. This position requires a strategic leader who can navigate complex environments and foster collaboration among various stakeholders. The director will be responsible for ensuring that the INR business aligns with IFC's mission and objectives, focusing on sustainable development and profitability. The role involves managing a diverse portfolio, building client relationships, and addressing regulatory and sector bottlenecks to facilitate private capital flow into productive investments. The director will also be expected to contribute to the development of innovative financial products and solutions tailored to the needs of the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the IFC Regional Industry Director include leading the development and execution of INR’s strategy in the specified regions, ensuring adherence to risk management and ESG practices, and maintaining a balanced program across various geographical areas. The director will represent IFC to key clients and stakeholders, fostering long-term relationships and identifying opportunities for collaboration. Additionally, the director will supervise INR managers, implement corporate initiatives for efficiency, and contribute to the regional equity strategy. The role requires a strong focus on business development, client management, and resource mobilization, as well as the ability to lead a large and diverse team effectively.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a PhD, master’s degree, or equivalent professional qualification in economics, finance, or business, along with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience. Candidates should demonstrate superior business judgment and established professional credibility across various financial sector institutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory, with knowledge of French and/or Arabic considered advantageous.
