The NRC's area office in North Kivu employs over 100 staff members and addresses critical issues in education, rapid response, shelter, EHA, ICLA, and protection/mediation.

Job Overview:
The Logistics Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the daily implementation of logistics functions across various zones within the North Kivu area. This position is primarily focused on providing significant support to the NRC team in Kitchanga regarding stock management, asset management, and assisting program teams with supply tracking at distribution sites and during activity implementation. The Logistics Technical Assistant is expected to work in compliance with NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines, ensuring that logistical support functions are executed effectively and efficiently. The role also involves regular reporting on the progress of support activities and ensuring proper documentation archiving.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Technical Assistant will have a range of responsibilities including:
  • Working in accordance with NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines.
  • Assisting in the implementation of support functions as per the action plan.
  • Preparing reports on the status of support activities as requested by the supervisor or management.
  • Ensuring proper archiving of documents.
  • Encouraging and proposing improvements for support functions. Specific responsibilities include: - Regularly updating stock and asset tracking registers at the Kitchanga base. - Supporting procurement activities on the ground by assisting in the reception of program materials and support at activity implementation sites. - Assisting in processing requests for stock and asset withdrawals and ensuring their compliance. - Helping to update the list of kits stored in the NRC warehouse in Kitchanga. - Assisting in organizing regular inventories of stocks and assets in the NRC warehouse in Kitchanga. - Ensuring cleanliness and organization of kits in NRC storage spaces. - Ensuring proper warehouse management in Kitchanga and on the ground in accordance with existing procedures.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Logistics Technical Assistant position should possess a strong foundation in logistics and supply chain management. General professional competencies include: - General knowledge in Economics, Management, Logistics, and related fields. - Specific knowledge related to supply chain themes. - Proven results in responsibilities related to the position. - Proficiency in English is an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a relevant educational background in fields such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines. A degree or equivalent qualification in these areas is preferred to ensure a solid understanding of the logistical processes and challenges faced in humanitarian contexts.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a certain level of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within a humanitarian or non-governmental organization context. Experience in stock management, procurement processes, and logistical support functions is highly desirable. Familiarity with the operational environment in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, particularly in North Kivu, would be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position, given the local context and the need to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international staff and partners.
