Job Overview:
The Human Resources and Administration role is crucial for the effective functioning of HR operations within the Danish Refugee Council's Mocha and Khokha offices. Reporting to the Support Services Team Leader, the incumbent will oversee various HR functions including recruitment, contract preparation, onboarding, performance management, attendance tracking, and the management of HR archives. This position also involves supporting administrative activities to ensure compliance with DRC procedures and guidelines. The role is designed to enhance the overall HR framework and ensure that all staff members are supported in their roles, contributing to the organization's mission of aiding displaced persons.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Human Resources and Administration position include:
  • Assisting the Support Services Team Leader in HR functions related to the Mocha and Khokha offices, ensuring compliance with DRC's Operations Handbook and local HR policies.
  • Coordinating the recruitment and hiring processes for staff, casual workers, and volunteers, including scheduling interviews and preparing contracts.
  • Managing the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they receive appropriate HR orientation.
  • Overseeing the attendance management system, tracking daily attendance, and providing monthly reports.
  • Assisting in the administration of medical and life insurance for staff, including enrollment and cancellation processes.
  • Supporting the Admin Officer in managing office supplies, premises maintenance, and utility payments.
  • Maintaining accurate personnel files and ensuring all mandatory documents are collected and stored appropriately.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in HR and administration, preferably within an international non-governmental organization (INGO). Proficiency in computer skills at an intermediate level is required, along with a strong attention to detail. The ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment is essential, as is a commitment to upholding DRC's core competencies and values.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field is required for this position. Relevant certifications or licenses in HR management will be considered an asset.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of relevant work experience in human resources and administration, ideally within an INGO context. This experience should demonstrate a solid understanding of HR processes and the ability to manage administrative tasks effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, while an intermediate level of English is also required. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an advantage but is not mandatory.

The contract for this position is set to last until June 30, 2026, and it falls under the Management (I) band. The role is based in Mocha, Yemen, and the start date is as soon as possible. Salary and conditions will align with the Danish Refugee Council's National Terms of Employment.
