Job Overview: The Project Manager will play a crucial role in leading a newly established Working Group focused on the protection of medical missions in armed conflict. The Project Manager will be responsible for refining the scope of the workstream, developing substantive content for advocacy campaigns, and ensuring effective collaboration among various stakeholders. The role requires a strategic approach to engage with internal and external partners, aligning efforts to enhance the visibility and impact of MSF's mission in protecting medical missions under International law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Humanitarian Law. The Project Manager will report directly to the Core ExCom, ensuring that the workstream's objectives are met and that progress is communicated effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Manager will animate the Working Group by refining the scope of the workstream and leading the development of substantive content for the campaign and engagement strategy. Key responsibilities include facilitating internal and external consultations with relevant stakeholders, identifying and aligning internal efforts and external partnerships for visibility and coordination, and defining key windows of opportunity for collaboration. The Project Manager will ensure that data selection for analysis supports specific advocacy efforts and will report on progress and challenges to the Core ExCom as required. The role involves coordinating the Working Group, developing a clear mapping of the agreed scope, and creating a plan for the campaign and engagement strategy, particularly focusing on the anniversary of Resolution 2286 as a primary milestone.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate complex projects. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves engaging with various internal and external partners. A deep understanding of International Humanitarian Law and advocacy strategies is required, along with the ability to analyze data and develop evidence-based content. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to MSF's humanitarian principles and possess the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in international relations, humanitarian studies, law, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in humanitarian law or advocacy will be considered an asset. Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within the humanitarian sector.
