Job Overview:
The Project Director position is a leadership role within the ACHIEVE project, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State and aims to address maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) gaps in Liberia. The role involves overseeing the implementation of activities that align with ACHIEVE’s strategic objectives, including achieving and maintaining HIV/AIDS epidemic control among vulnerable populations and improving integrated MNCH and nutrition services. The Project Director will be responsible for ensuring that the project meets its goals and objectives, while also serving as the main point of contact for Pact in Liberia and representing the organization legally. This position requires a strong focus on quality of care, vaccination coverage, and data visibility, as well as enhancing human resources to support the project’s initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Director will serve as the primary liaison with the U.S. Department of State for day-to-day implementation and management matters. They will coordinate with various stakeholders, including government officials, civil society, and other implementers, to maintain strong relationships and ensure effective project execution. The role includes providing technical and administrative leadership, overseeing project planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting, and ensuring compliance with USG rules and regulations. The Project Director will also represent ACHIEVE/Liberia in technical working groups and meetings, provide supervision to designated staff, and hold Power of Attorney authority for various operational matters, including registration and agreements with government agencies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in international development, global health, or public health, demonstrating strong leadership and management capabilities. A graduate degree from an accredited university in management, organizational leadership, international development, public or global health, or a related technical field is required. Additionally, candidates should have at least 7 years of experience managing diverse teams and a proven track record of achieving deliverables on time and within budget. Knowledge of USG rules, regulations, and policies is essential, along with the ability to build and maintain relationships with government and civil society stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A graduate degree from an accredited university in a relevant field such as management, organizational leadership, international development, public health, or global health is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of managing international development projects and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in international development or related fields. Candidates should have substantial experience in managing diverse teams and leading successful projects, particularly in the areas of global health and public health. Experience in managing USG-funded projects, especially in maternal and child health, is highly desirable.

Languages:
