Job Overview:
The WHO Country Office in Czechia is looking for a dynamic and skilled Communications Specialist to support its communication efforts. This role is crucial for enhancing WHO's visibility and disseminating key health messages to various stakeholders through multiple communication channels. The selected candidate will receive orientation and training on WHO's communication guidelines, tools, and procedures, ensuring they are well-equipped to perform their duties. Regular supervision and support will be provided by the assigned supervisor, and necessary resources and materials for carrying out communication activities will be made available. The Communications Specialist will manage WHO Czechia's social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, to actively promote key health messages, campaigns, and initiatives. They will also develop a social media content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting, monitor social media channels for engagement, trends, and opportunities for interaction, and manage the country office website integrated into the WHO corporate website, ensuring accurate and timely information is available.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Communications Specialist include managing WHO Czechia's social media platforms, developing a social media content calendar, monitoring social media channels for engagement and trends, managing the country office website, drafting and editing content for social media posts and other communication materials, collaborating with relevant teams to gather information and stories for content creation, ensuring all content adheres to WHO's communication guidelines, utilizing graphic design tools to create visually appealing graphics, and monitoring the performance of communication activities, including social media engagement metrics, website traffic, and media coverage.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and have a good understanding of social media platforms and digital communication strategies. They should be able to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders, demonstrating creativity and attention to detail in content creation. Familiarity with WHO's communication guidelines and standards is essential, as is the ability to utilize graphic design tools for creating engaging visuals.

Educational Background:
A degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in digital communication or graphic design would be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in communications, social media management, or public relations, ideally within a health-related context. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is a plus, as is familiarity with public health issues and communication strategies.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in Czech is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the region.

This position is a volunteer role under the UN system, and the selected candidate will be expected to commit to the duration of the assignment.
