Job Overview: The Budget Assistant position at FAO Egypt is crucial for supporting the effective monitoring and reporting of budgetary resources. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the quality, transparency, and consistency of budget data and processes. This role requires a strong analytical skill set to analyze data and communicate findings effectively. The Budget Assistant will work closely with various teams within FAO Egypt to facilitate the smooth functioning of the unit and contribute to the overall mission of the organization. The position is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented and possess a strong understanding of budget management and data analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Budget Assistant will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including: collecting, cleaning, and organizing budget data from internal FAO systems and supporting documents; performing data quality checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of budget-related datasets; providing support in reviewing expenditure transaction listings and financial reports to identify errors or inconsistencies; maintaining up-to-date documentation of budget data for analysis and reporting; monitoring project budgets and funding agreements to ensure compliance with financial conditions; assisting in compiling inputs for budget forecasts; developing tools and visuals for results-based monitoring and evaluation; preparing a budgetary performance dashboard; collaborating with relevant teams to ensure timely availability of budget data; and performing other duties as required consistent with the scope of the assignment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in business administration, finance, economics, or related disciplines that involve substantial numerical and analytical work. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of relevant experience in data analysis and budget-related support work. A working knowledge of both English and Arabic at level C is required, and candidates must be nationals of Egypt.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in fields such as business administration, finance, economics, or other related disciplines that emphasize numerical and analytical skills. It is essential that the degree is obtained from an institution accredited or recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Experience: The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant experience in data analysis and budget-related support work. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to handle budget data effectively and contribute to financial reporting and analysis.
Languages: Candidates must have a working knowledge of English and Arabic at level C. Proficiency in both languages is essential for effective communication and reporting within the organization.
