Job Overview:
The Finance Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager by coordinating and executing financial management tasks essential for the successful implementation of the Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) project in Nigeria. This position involves performing various accounting and financial duties, ensuring compliance with both internal and external regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and communicating with project leaders to ensure adherence to budget constraints. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Assistant's duties include preparing and monitoring monthly expenditures for projects, analyzing financial data, and providing comprehensive monthly reports to both internal and external stakeholders. They will serve as a key source of information regarding fiscal policies and procedures, advising management on options for making informed business decisions. The role also involves establishing and managing accounting record-keeping systems, reviewing invoices, and assisting in the preparation of annual project proposals for renewal. Additionally, the Finance Assistant will work closely with project leaders to resolve issues related to monthly expenditures and project budgets, ensuring effective communication regarding proposal development and budget monitoring. Other related duties may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a recognized equivalent, along with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and administration related to international development programs is required. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly strong Excel skills, is essential. Knowledge of digital financial tools is desirable, and experience in a multicultural environment is an advantage. Educational Background:
