Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is located within the Capacity Development Operational Training Service (CDOTS) of the Department of Operational Support (DOS) at the United Nations. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the CDOTS Campus Team, which focuses on enhancing eLearning initiatives within the UN Campus Learning Management System (LMS). This position offers an opportunity to engage in the implementation of new LMS Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring that eLearning courses are interactive, user-friendly, and compliant with established standards. The intern will work under the general supervision of the Team Lead and will be involved in quality assurance testing, documentation development, and user support, contributing to the overall effectiveness of training programs within the UN.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's responsibilities will include:
Conducting quality assurance testing of eLearning courses and programs to ensure they meet established platform standards, including branding, technical specifications, and naming conventions.
Developing comprehensive documentation and tutorials for LMS users, including learning managers, course developers, and learners.
Triaging support tickets and responding to user queries related to account management, troubleshooting, and eLearning content management.
Collaborating with stakeholders to enhance the interactivity and user-friendliness of Moodle-based eLearning courses.
Assisting in the alignment of eLearning initiatives with the enterprise Learning Management Platform standards.
Supporting the implementation of new LMS Standard Operating Procedures and contributing to the overall improvement of training services within the UN.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in fields such as Instructional Design, Education Technology, Adult Learning/Teacher Training, or a related area; or (b) Be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in any of the aforementioned fields. Additionally, candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a relevant educational background, which includes either a graduate degree or a bachelor's degree in fields related to instructional design, education technology, or adult learning. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the principles of eLearning and instructional methodologies that will be applied during the internship.
Experience: While prior professional experience is not mandatory for this internship, any relevant experience in instructional design, eLearning development, or educational technology will be considered an asset. Interns should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English is required for this internship, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of an additional official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable and will enhance the candidate's profile.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations, and they are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses.
