Job Overview:
The Digital Health Associate will play a crucial role in supporting digital health system strengthening and analytics across CHAI countries, particularly in East and Southern Africa. This position requires a strong understanding of core data systems and technical concepts such as enterprise architecture and data interoperability. The Associate will provide technical support and project management to CHAI country teams and government partners, focusing on downstream implementation and project delivery. Responsibilities include developing operational plans, creating technical product requirements, and establishing foundational data registries to improve decision-making and interoperability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate will be responsible for several key areas:
  • Digital Health Governance and Infrastructure (30%): Collaborate with CHAI teams to develop operational plans, identify infrastructure gaps, and establish governance for digital health systems.
  • Core Data Systems (30%): Contribute to the development of government enterprise architecture and foundational data systems, ensuring context-appropriate requirements are documented and implemented.
  • Data Analytics (20%): Provide technical support for data cleaning and analysis, translating complex findings into actionable insights and maintaining interactive dashboards.
  • Communication and Project Management (20%): Draft proposals and reports, manage project plans, and cultivate relationships with stakeholders to strengthen digital foundations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have 2-3 years of experience in strategy, operations, or data analysis. Proficiency in data cleaning and analysis using Excel is required, and familiarity with Python is advantageous. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in resource-limited contexts and a strong work ethic are also important.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required for this position. Candidates should have a solid foundation in data analysis, strategy, or operations, which will be critical for the role's responsibilities.

Experience:
The position requires 2-3 years of relevant experience, particularly in strategy, operations, or data analysis. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to work in resource-limited contexts and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and fluency in French is considered an advantage, especially for supporting Francophone portfolios.
