Job Overview: The Data Analyst/Sr. Data Analyst position within the Resource Management and Policy Coordination Division of the Institute for Capacity Development (ICDRM) is a contractual role focused on data and information management and analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with the management of ICDRM to support the department's financial management and capacity development activities. This role involves developing and maintaining reports and dashboards that monitor and analyze financial and capacity development management, compiling data for internal and external requests, and proposing advanced visualization techniques for complex datasets. The analyst will also recommend enhancements for budget forecasting and tracking, manage the divisional website, and support the optimization and automation of processes. This position is critical for ensuring that the department can effectively track its performance and make informed decisions based on data analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Data Analyst/Sr. Data Analyst include:
Developing and maintaining comprehensive reports and dashboards to monitor financial and capacity development management.
Compiling data and preparing presentations in response to both internal and external data requests.
Proposing and developing advanced visualization techniques for complex datasets related to financial and operational performance.
Recommending analytics enhancements for budget forecasting and tracking.
Managing the divisional website to ensure it is up-to-date and user-friendly.
Supporting the optimization and automation of processes to improve efficiency within the division.
Collaborating with team members to ensure that data management practices align with departmental goals and objectives.
Engaging in project management activities to ensure timely delivery of data-related projects.
Assisting in the development of training materials and resources related to data management and analysis.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent in programming/systems, computer science, statistics, finance, mathematics, economics, or a related field of study. Additionally, the successful candidate should demonstrate excellent data management and analysis skills, with experience in data visualization tools, particularly PowerBI. Operational experience in leveraging a data warehouse to build dashboards and reports, as well as answering ad hoc data requests, is essential. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel functions, is required. Candidates should also have demonstrated abilities in developing solutions based on SharePoint and HTML, as well as experience in web design and content management. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, along with effective planning and project management capabilities, are crucial for success in this role.
Educational Background: A university degree or equivalent in programming/systems, computer science, statistics, finance, mathematics, economics, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective data analysis and management, as well as the technical skills needed to utilize various data visualization tools and software.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have operational experience in data management and analysis, particularly in leveraging data warehouses to create dashboards and reports. Experience in responding to ad hoc data requests is also necessary. Additional Notes: This is a one-year contractual appointment, with the possibility of renewal for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, depending on the incumbent's performance, budget availability, and ongoing business needs.
