Job Overview: The Client Engagement Assistant plays a crucial role in the mobilization and placement of UN Volunteers within UN agencies, funds, and programs. This position involves managing partnerships with UN entities, ensuring that the value of volunteerism is communicated effectively, and supporting the onboarding and ongoing experience of volunteers. The assistant will work closely with the Country Coordinator and Regional Manager to identify opportunities for volunteer placements, develop partnerships, and enhance the visibility of volunteer contributions. The role requires a proactive approach to relationship management and a commitment to fostering a positive experience for volunteers throughout their service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in mobilizing volunteers and developing and maintaining partnerships by managing key accounts and supporting relationships with UN partners. This includes identifying volunteer placement opportunities, preparing assignment descriptions, and developing initiatives that respond to partner needs.
Contribute to business intelligence by collecting and analyzing data related to UN Cooperation Frameworks, recording volunteer mobilization opportunities, and preparing presentations for internal use.
Ensure a positive volunteer experience by supporting onboarding processes, responding to inquiries, gathering feedback, and organizing appreciation initiatives.
Support the duty of care for UN Volunteers by liaising with security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security focal points, providing timely support during medical evacuations, and ensuring volunteers have access to necessary resources and information.
Backstop other functions within the Field Unit during peak periods to ensure continuity of service.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess secondary education as a minimum requirement. A university degree in Social Sciences or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Practical experience in partnership engagement, advocacy, management, or client service is essential, with a minimum of 5 years of experience for those with a high school diploma or 2 years for those with a bachelor's degree. Skills in preparing presentation materials, report drafting, and using office software are required. Familiarity with ticket-based service management systems is considered an asset.
Educational Background: The position requires at least secondary education, with preference given to candidates holding a university degree in Social Sciences or a related area. This educational background is beneficial for understanding the complexities of partnership engagement and volunteer management within the UN system.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience at the national or international level is required for candidates with a high school diploma. Those with a bachelor's degree need at least 2 years of practical experience. This experience should be in areas such as partnership engagement, advocacy, management, or client service, demonstrating the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and manage relationships with various stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory for this position. This bilingual requirement is crucial for effective communication with volunteers and partners in Colombia, ensuring that all parties can engage and collaborate effectively.
