Job Overview:
The Analyst, G&EI position is integral to the Gender and Economic Inclusion team, which focuses on three main pillars: Access to Skills and Employment, Access to Finance and Entrepreneurship, and Access to Services. The role involves providing technical input into the design and structuring of projects that aim to enhance gender equality and economic inclusion. The Analyst will support G&EI specialists in monitoring the portfolio of projects, assessing their transition impact, and contributing to various assessments and strategies that inform policy dialogue. This position requires a proactive approach to analyzing sector developments and structural reforms, as well as engaging with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of G&EI initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be responsible for assisting gender and economic inclusion economists and specialists throughout all stages of project work, including design, assessment, and policy engagement. Key responsibilities include monitoring and assessing sector developments in Ukraine, contributing to country diagnostics, and reviewing the EBRD Assessment of Transition Qualities (ATQs). The Analyst will also monitor the transition impact of the Bank’s operations, which may involve limited travel to project sites. Additional duties include analyzing the impact of Bank projects, conducting background research, drafting briefings and presentations, and maintaining relevant datasets. The role requires collaboration with various teams and external consultants to ensure effective project management and communication.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a master’s degree in economics, public policy, gender studies, or a related field from a reputable university. In exceptional cases, candidates with relevant work experience and a strong bachelor’s degree may also be considered. Prior experience in policy-oriented microeconomics, banking, or consultancy is advantageous. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, including proficiency in Excel and familiarity with database and analytics software such as Stata or MatLab. Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Ukrainian are required, along with familiarity with the EBRD region and knowledge of additional regional languages being a plus.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a master’s degree in a relevant field such as economics, public policy, or gender studies. Candidates with a strong bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience may be considered in exceptional cases. The emphasis is on obtaining a degree from a leading university, which demonstrates a solid foundation in the necessary analytical and policy-oriented skills.

Experience:
The position requires prior work experience in policy-oriented or applied microeconomics, ideally within a central bank, regulatory body, or in banking and consultancy services. Candidates should have a proven track record of engaging with economic policies and projects, demonstrating their ability to analyze and assess economic impacts effectively. Experience in monitoring and evaluating projects, particularly in the context of gender and economic inclusion, will be highly regarded.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Ukrainian is mandatory for this role, as effective communication is crucial for collaboration and reporting. Knowledge of additional languages from the EBRD region is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate better engagement with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of project implementation.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in Kyiv, Ukraine, with potential temporary relocation to Warsaw, Poland. EBRD may allow eligible candidates to work from Ukraine if relocation is not feasible due to personal reasons. The contract type is regular, and the position is full-time.
