Job Overview: The Supply ChainAnalyst position at WFP is a critical role that involves contributing to the development and implementation of supply chain plans and procedures in alignment with WFP's global strategy. The incumbent will work closely with the Deputy CountryDirector or a more experienced Supply Chain Manager, receiving regular guidance and feedback to facilitate personal development and learning. This position is designed for individuals who are typically contributors, working collaboratively with more experienced staff members. The analyst will conduct analytical work and provide recommendations on supply chain-related issues, ensuring that food assistance meets the needs of beneficiaries and service delivery requirements for partners. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to analyze data to inform decision-making processes.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: contributing to the development and implementation of supply chain plans and procedures; participating in the analysis of the national context and managing end-to-end supply chain operations and distribution networks; supporting the implementation of supply chain operations, initiatives, and services to ensure an integrated, cost-effective, and timely approach; collecting and analyzing data to prepare reports that highlight opportunities for improvement; conducting financial analyses and budget reviews, making recommendations for optimizing resource use; collaborating with key stakeholders to promote an integrated supply chain approach; conducting market analyses and mappinglogistics networks; monitoring activities to ensure compliance with internal controls; managing service providers and ensuring safe and effective planning and execution of operations; preparing accurate and timely reports; mentoring support staff; contributing to emergency preparedness actions; and performing other duties as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of supply chain strategies and frameworks, with the ability to support analytical and conceptual work. They should have experience in operational planning, utilizing data for analysis, and managing end-to-end supply chains. Knowledge of capacity-building initiatives and performance improvement strategies is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, and a commitment to WFP's values and mission.
Educational Background: A master's degree in supply chain management, engineering, economics, business administration, logistics, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree with relevant professional experience and/or additional training may be considered. Candidates should have a solid academic foundation that supports their analytical and operational capabilities in supply chain management.
Experience: A minimum of one year of post-university professional experience in supply chain management is required. Candidates should have experience in operational context analysis, supporting analytical and conceptual work on strategy, and designing plans and scenarios in collaboration with stakeholders. Familiarity with logistics information systems and problem-solving in operational contexts is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in both French and English (level C) is mandatory, with strong oral and written communication skills in both languages. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to work in diverse environments and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
