Job Overview:
The Associate Director, Senior Banker I (AD) is a pivotal role within the EBRD, responsible for leading project origination, structuring, due diligence, execution, implementation, and monitoring of various investment instruments offered by the Bank. This position requires a strategic focus on developing and launching housing finance facilities in Ukraine, necessitating collaboration with key stakeholders, including government entities and donors. The AD will design and implement housing finance solutions aimed at supporting affordable housing markets and home reconstruction efforts. This role demands a high level of interaction with clients and stakeholders, ensuring that all projects align with the Bank's strategic objectives and adhere to international best practices. The AD will also supervise junior banking staff, providing mentorship and guidance while leading complex transactions and contributing to product development initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The AD will be responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of projects, contributing to regional and team origination efforts. This includes managing transaction negotiations, overseeing project due diligence, and ensuring compliance with the Bank's standards. The AD will monitor project portfolios, manage client relationships, and ensure timely reporting on project statuses. Additionally, the AD will engage in policy dialogue, assist in securing grants and technical cooperation funds, and actively participate in business development efforts to build a strong pipeline of investment opportunities. Staff management is also a key responsibility, involving the supervision and development of junior bankers, ensuring high-quality project work, and maintaining ethical standards within the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in housing finance, mortgage markets, or financial instrument structuring is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong quantitative skills, credit analysis capabilities, and a solid understanding of housing policy and regulatory frameworks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial modeling is essential, along with excellent relationship management and negotiation skills. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is crucial, as well as strong written and oral communication skills in English, with proficiency in the local language being an advantage.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field, with a Master’s degree being highly preferred. Additional professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are considered advantageous and reflect a commitment to professional development in the financial sector.

Experience:
Candidates should have extensive experience in the financial industry, ideally from investment or commercial banks, private equity firms, or asset management firms. A strong background in leading transactions through the full project life cycle is essential, with relevant experience in the financial sector in Ukraine being a significant advantage. The role requires a proven track record of managing complex financial projects and a deep understanding of the housing finance landscape.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in the local language is considered a valuable asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with local stakeholders and clients effectively.

Additional Notes:
This position is a full-time role with a fixed-term contract lasting two years. The job is primarily based in Kyiv, Ukraine, with temporary relocation to Warsaw, Poland, as needed. The EBRD may allow eligible candidates to work from Ukraine if relocation is not feasible due to personal reasons.
