Job Overview: The Education Specialist (EdTech) position is designed to provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in enhancing national digital learning ecosystems. The role focuses on the planning, design, and management of digital learning platforms that deliver inclusive and engaging learning experiences, particularly for marginalized and underserved groups. The Specialist will oversee the development of high-quality digital and blended learning content, ensuring alignment with national curriculum priorities and global standards. This position also involves guiding government counterparts in shaping EdTech policies and frameworks, enhancing education data management systems, and fostering partnerships with various stakeholders to promote effective EdTech governance. The ultimate goal is to accelerate digital transformation in education and contribute to impactful learning outcomes for all learners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the development and planning of educational programs.
Build networks and partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
Foster innovation, manage knowledge, and enhance capacity building initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in fields such as education, social sciences, or development studies. A minimum of five years of professional experience in digital education, program planning, and management is required. Candidates should have a strong technical understanding of game-based education, digital pedagogy, and data visualization. Experience in educational continuity and instructional design during emergencies is an asset, as is relevant experience in a UN system agency or similar organization. Certifications in edtech or ICT in education are also advantageous.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in education, social sciences, social work, statistics, development studies, or other relevant technical fields is required for this position.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of professional experience in areas related to digital education, assessment platforms, and program management. Candidates should have experience in technology-based education curriculum design and a solid understanding of educational dashboards and data privacy/security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.
