Job Overview:
The Sustainable Energy Consultant position focuses on developing and implementing partnerships and investment financing models that support sustainable energy initiatives. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders to identify opportunities for investment in sustainable energy projects that benefit children and communities. This role requires a deep understanding of sustainable energy practices, financing mechanisms, and the ability to engage with diverse partners to drive impactful projects. The consultant will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of UNICEF's sustainable energy initiatives and ensure alignment with the organization's mission to promote children's rights and well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement innovative financing models for sustainable energy projects that align with UNICEF's goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify potential investment opportunities and partnerships.
  • Conduct research and analysis on sustainable energy trends, financing mechanisms, and best practices.
  • Prepare detailed project proposals and presentations for potential investors and partners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented projects, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to build capacity among stakeholders on sustainable energy financing.
  • Represent UNICEF at conferences and meetings related to sustainable energy and child rights.
  • Ensure compliance with UNICEF's policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in sustainable energy financing, investment modeling, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge of UNICEF's mission and commitment to children's rights is an asset.

Educational Background:
A master's degree in finance, sustainable development, environmental science, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in project management or sustainable energy are advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in sustainable energy, investment financing, or project management is required. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is preferred.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable, and knowledge of other languages is a plus.
