Job Overview:
The Manager, Corporate Digital Backbone will play a pivotal role in leading the modernization and unification of the World Bank Group's corporate applications, which encompass approximately 170 diverse systems. This position is crucial for ensuring that these applications form a secure, interoperable, and future-ready ecosystem that supports the organization's corporate functions. The Manager will be responsible for driving portfolio consolidation, platform standardization, and advanced integration while managing technical debt and enhancing resilience. This role requires a strategic mindset to guide the technology direction for the corporate application portfolio, ensuring alignment with business transformation priorities and technology capabilities. The Manager will also oversee the integration of modern digital capabilities, including data analytics and AI, into the corporate application landscape, thereby enabling intelligent decision-making and operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager will lead the modernization of the World Bank Group's corporate applications, ensuring they are robust, secure, and fit for purpose. Key responsibilities include creating structured application modernization roadmaps, managing the lifecycle of corporate applications, optimizing application development practices, and embedding data and analytics into the application portfolio. The Manager will also oversee system integration and architectural simplification to create a unified and autonomous backbone for corporate functions. Additionally, the role involves forming and developing a high-performing, globally distributed team, fostering a culture of innovation, and contributing to strategic planning and cross-organizational initiatives. The Manager will be expected to deliver quantifiable productivity improvements and establish effective collaboration across the department.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related disciplines with at least 10 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with 15 years of experience. Post-graduate coursework in digital technology or related subjects is preferred. Certification in Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe Agilist or similar qualifications, is required. Additional certifications in technology, such as Solutions Architecture Certifications or PMP, are desirable. Candidates should have extensive experience in leadership roles within application delivery, software architecture, and technology management, particularly in large global enterprises. Proven expertise in application modernization strategies, modern developer tools, and enterprise integration platforms is essential.

Educational Background:
