Job Overview: The Communications Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring that the results of the Area-Based Recovery (ABR) projects are effectively communicated to stakeholders and the public. This position involves leading strategic communications, producing content, and managing visibility efforts related to the ABR projects. The Analyst will be responsible for promoting project activities and results through various communication channels, including organizing events, preparing background documents, and managing media outreach. The role requires a proactive approach to developing high-quality communication content, ensuring adherence to branding guidelines, and facilitating knowledge sharing among stakeholders. The Analyst will also be expected to integrate gender equality considerations into all communications efforts, promoting a safe and inclusive environment in line with UNDP's corporate standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Communications Analyst will manage communication streams and public outreach related to the ABR projects. Key responsibilities include promoting project activities through various channels, preparing background documents for donor missions, and managing public messaging. The Analyst will develop, edit, and disseminate high-quality communication content, ensuring compliance with branding guidelines. They will also monitor media coverage, gather lessons learned, and adapt strategies for continuous improvement. Additionally, the Analyst will ensure the mainstreaming of gender equality in communications, support a culture of respect and inclusion, and perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's Degree or equivalent) in Communications, Media Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, Development Studies, Public/Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-line university degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in the aforementioned areas, combined with two years of qualifying experience, will be considered in lieu of a Master's Degree. Applicants with a Master's degree are not required to have professional work experience, while those with a Bachelor's degree must have at least two years of relevant experience in public relations and/or communications at the national or international level.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master's Degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Communications, Media Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, Development Studies, Public/Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science, or related disciplines. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in these areas must also have two years of relevant professional experience to be considered.
Experience: The level of experience required for this position varies based on educational qualifications. Applicants with a Master's degree (or equivalent) are not required to have prior professional experience. However, those with a Bachelor's degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in public relations and/or communications, either at the national or international level.
Languages: Fluency in English and Ukrainian is mandatory for this position. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills in both languages to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
