Job Overview: The Private Sector Engagement Due Diligence Intern position at WWF offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in corporate sustainability and environmental issues. Interns will engage in various tasks, including processing due diligence requests, developing internal resources, and utilizing tools like the Risk Filter Suite to research corporate supply chains. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for managing a queue of due diligence research requests, prioritizing these requests in coordination with WWF's Private Sector Engagement and Development teams, as well as external consultants. Key responsibilities include updating SharePoint databases with incoming information and decisions, pulling due diligence reports from licensed ESG databases, and making recommendations for improving the due diligence business process. The intern will also plan and conduct training sessions for WWF corporate relationship managers on interpreting corporate due diligence research and evaluating the success of these training sessions. Collaboration with expert consultants to update the due diligence process and document business process changes is essential. The intern will also schedule internal consultations for developing new due diligence resources and conduct desktop research on potential partners, focusing on agricultural commodity sourcing, material production, and sustainability. Additional research duties may include updating training materials, pitch decks, and other resources as needed, while developing sustainability expertise across diverse sectors to support the Private Sector Engagement team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be current or recent graduate students in relevant fields such as corporate sustainability, business administration, natural resources, supply chain management, environmental science, environmental policy, or sustainable development. Highly qualified undergraduate students may also be considered. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, adaptability to changing tasks, initiative in problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential, with RScript capabilities being a desired asset. Familiarity with database management, enterprise risk management, and corporate sustainability strategies is preferred.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate will have a background in fields related to corporate sustainability, business administration, natural resources, supply chain management, environmental science, environmental policy, or sustainable development. This educational foundation will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to WWF's mission and the responsibilities of the internship.
Experience: While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate relevant administrative and project management experience, showcasing their ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
