Job Overview: The Field Technical Specialist will play a crucial role under the responsibility of the Technical Head of Programme, contributing to the implementation of Humanity & Inclusion's mandate in Ukraine and aligning with the organization's 10-year strategy. This position is pivotal in ensuring the quality and impact of projects implemented in Ukraine, utilizing a delegation system with appropriate control mechanisms. The specialist will be responsible for providing sectorial technical input to the rehabilitation strategy, ensuring compliance with global technical frameworks and standards, and fostering innovation and learning within the rehabilitation sector. The role also involves representing HI's technical expertise in local networks and contributing to advocacy efforts, as well as leading business development initiatives to identify and develop new rehabilitation projects in Ukraine. The Field Technical Specialist will also be involved in emergency preparedness and response, adapting working modalities to ensure effective humanitarian responses during crises.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Expertise: Contribute to the Ukraine Rehabilitation Strategy by providing sectorial technical input to the Programmes on rehabilitation, ensuring relevant follow-up. Provide technical support to projects, ensuring they meet strategic and sector standards, and monitor best practices. Control and monitor the technical quality of HI’s activities in the rehabilitation sector, ensuring compliance with audit recommendations. Contribute to the development of research and innovation projects in Ukraine.
Influence: Represent HI’s technical expertise in local networks, contribute to advocacy on specific themes, and assist in developing communication messages.
Business Development: Lead context analysis in rehabilitation, design and write new rehabilitation projects, and develop local partnerships.
Emergency Preparedness and Response: Support or implement emergency preparedness actions and adapt working modalities during emergencies to ensure effective humanitarian response.
Required Qualifications: Possession of a degree in physical therapy and/or occupational therapy is mandatory. A minimum of 5 years of overall professional experience is required, including at least 3 years in the rehabilitation sector within conflict-affected countries. The candidate must be proficient in developing and designing rehabilitation strategies, policies, and guidelines. Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills are essential for this role, as the specialist will be working in diverse environments and with various stakeholders.

The contract includes social coverage adapted to the individual's situation, such as unemployment insurance benefits for EU nationals, a pension scheme, and medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution. The salary starts at 2757€ gross per month, depending on experience, with additional benefits including a net monthly per diem of 604€, a hardship allowance of 500€ net per month, and 25 paid leave days per year. The position also includes a collective housing arrangement provided by HI, and if the candidate is a resident in the country, a local package will be offered.
