Job Posting Organization:
The internship is offered by the Transport Connectivity and Logistics Section of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). Job Overview:
The internship position is designed to support the Transport Connectivity and Logistics Section of ESCAP's Transport Division, which is dedicated to enhancing sustainable regional transport connectivity. The intern will engage in various activities, including the Trans-Asian Railway networks, aimed at improving operational efficiency in transport systems. The role requires the intern to work full-time, either onsite in Bangkok or remotely, for a duration of 2 to 6 months. The intern will be supervised by a staff member and is expected to contribute to qualitative analysis, report writing, and data collection related to international railway transport and its impact on sustainable development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include writing qualitative briefs and reports on international railway transport issues, evaluating the effectiveness of policies in the ESCAP region, and supporting the preparation of country reports. The intern will collect information from authentic sources, coordinate with Transport Division experts, analyze and compile data, and prepare presentations on findings. Additionally, the intern may assist with day-to-day tasks within the Division and familiarize themselves with administrative work typical of UN organizations.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program or be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program. No prior work experience is required, but relevant training, education, or skills that can benefit the United Nations during the internship are essential. Applicants should demonstrate strong communication skills, teamwork abilities, and a client-oriented mindset.

Educational Background:
Applicants must be pursuing or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level). Experience:
No prior work experience is necessary for this internship position. However, any relevant training or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the internship will be beneficial. Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory for this internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an asset.
