Job Overview:
The Project Assistant (Operations) will play a crucial role in the implementation of the 'Helios+' project, which focuses on the integration of third-country nationals into the labor market in Central Macedonia. This position requires close collaboration with national and local authorities, as well as experienced partners. The successful candidate will provide essential support through interpretation and translation services, ensuring effective communication with beneficiaries. The role involves making initial contact with beneficiaries, assisting with cultural mediation, and responding to inquiries through the project’s helpline. The Project Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with beneficiaries and stakeholders, identifying barriers to service access, and translating necessary documents. This position is vital for promoting social cohesion and inclusion within the community, and it requires a commitment to the humanitarian principles upheld by IOM.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Assistant (Operations) include:

• Providing interpretation and translation services to beneficiaries, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
• Making initial contact with beneficiaries and building respectful and trusting relationships.
• Assisting with cultural mediation to facilitate the integration process.
• Responding to calls received on the project’s helpline, identifying issues, and reporting them to the Project Assistant (Operations).
• Recording calls in the helpline tracker for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
• Developing and maintaining good relations with beneficiaries, relevant stakeholders, and other humanitarian actors to support project implementation.
• Identifying gaps and barriers that prevent beneficiaries from accessing services and reporting these to the project team.
• Translating documents and information materials for dissemination to beneficiaries.
• Assisting in mediation activities in collaboration with IOM staff, ensuring objectivity and impartiality. 1
• Providing general assistance to other project staff during activities in HELIOS+ Centers and other locations as required. 1
• Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Project Assistant (Operations) position include:

• A high school degree or certificate with a minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
• A university degree from an accredited academic institution is considered an advantage.
• Previous work experience in a similar role is essential, particularly in a multi-cultural environment.
• A combination of knowledge, education, training, and skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Computer literacy in standard software applications is required.
• Strong work ethics and a commitment to humanitarian principles are essential.
• A valid driver’s license with at least five years of driving experience is an advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school degree or certificate, with a preference for candidates holding a university degree from an accredited institution. Experience:
Candidates should have previous work experience in a similar role, ideally within a multi-cultural environment. Languages:
Fluency in English and Greek is required for this position, both oral and written. Additionally, fluency in Arabic is mandatory.
