Job Overview:
The Partnership and Communication Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Office at UNDP Qatar by managing key partnership priorities and engagement strategies. This position involves leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy for UNDP in Qatar, which includes managing social media platforms and coordinating partnership visibility efforts. The Associate will be responsible for documenting partnership success stories, organizing advocacy events, and ensuring effective communication across various media platforms. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate records of partnership engagements and supporting high-level visits from UNDP delegations. The Associate will also engage in producing articles and reports that highlight partnership activities and lessons learned, contributing to the overall visibility and impact of UNDP's work in Qatar.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Partnership and Communication Associate include:
  • Supporting the Head of Office on partnership priorities and engagement strategies, acting as a focal point for partnerships with UNDP Qatar and Qatari partners.
  • Leading the development and execution of a communications strategy for UNDP in Qatar, including managing social media accounts.
  • Coordinating and sharing partnership success stories and visibility efforts during strategic dialogues and key meetings.
  • Organizing partnership advocacy events and UN-recognized celebrations, collecting and disseminating communication materials.
  • Maintaining accurate records of partnership engagements and tracking portfolio milestones using established databases.
  • Supporting high-level visits from UNDP delegations, ensuring relevant media coverage and reporting.
  • Assisting in the negotiation of funding proposals and agreements in collaboration with country offices.
  • Producing partnership documentation and maintaining outreach with local stakeholders.
  • Writing articles and reports on partnership activities and lessons learned. 1
  • Promoting volunteerism and development values through stakeholder engagement and public campaigns.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Partnership and Communication Associate position include strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. The candidate should possess a solid understanding of partnership development and advocacy strategies, as well as experience in managing social media and communication platforms. Proficiency in project management and organizational skills is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. The candidate should demonstrate adaptability, creativity, and professionalism in their approach to tasks and responsibilities.

Educational Background:
Candidates for the Partnership and Communication Associate position should have a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, international relations, or a related field. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred but not mandatory. Educational qualifications should be complemented by relevant training or certifications in communication strategies or partnership development.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 2-3 years of professional experience in communications, partnership development, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development or humanitarian work, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the UN system and its operations, as well as experience in managing social media and communication campaigns, will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as all communication and documentation will be conducted in English. Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable, as it will facilitate engagement with local stakeholders and enhance communication efforts within Qatar. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This position is a full-time role based in Doha, Qatar, under the auspices of the UNDP office. The initial contract duration is determined upon arrival and may be extended based on operational needs and satisfactory performance. The Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) for this position is USD 2,888.63 per month, along with an entry lumpsum of USD 4,00
