Job Overview:
The Digital Communication Assistant position is situated within the Digital Strategy of UNICEF's Communication Section, reporting directly to the Communication Officer. The role involves managing all digital channels and communication for UNICEF Equatorial Guinea, including the development and maintenance of the organization's website. The primary purpose of this job is to design, develop, and implement engaging social media content strategies that facilitate community management and campaigns. The assistant will create and coordinate social media campaigns, promote youth-related content, and collaborate with colleagues on marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing efforts. This position is crucial for enhancing UNICEF's digital presence and ensuring effective communication with the community, particularly focusing on young people and marginalized groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Digital Communication Assistant will be responsible for several key functions, including:
  • Strategy, Content, and Campaigns: Designing and implementing dynamic social media content, managing daily community interactions, amplifying ongoing campaigns, and publishing corporate information.
  • Social Media Editorial: Leading the management of UNICEF's presence on visual platforms like Instagram and YouTube, writing compelling social media content, and producing thematic videos focused on children's rights.
  • Reporting and Trends: Collaborating with the M&E Officer to measure social media efforts, identifying opportunities for engagement, and providing analytics reports to improve UNICEF's digital presence.
  • Maintaining and updating the digital platform, including the website and social media channels, ensuring rapid information dissemination to partners, and managing a database of contacts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to communication or digital marketing. A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in communication, digital marketing, or new media is required. Experience in a developing country and familiarity with emergency contexts are considered strong assets. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop and implement social media strategies, manage digital communication channels, and possess knowledge of best practices in digital engagement.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes completion of secondary education, with additional technical or university courses in fields related to communication, digital marketing, or media being highly desirable. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of digital communication and marketing strategies.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of relevant professional experience in communication, digital marketing, or new media. Experience working in a developing country is a strong asset, as is familiarity with emergency contexts. Candidates should have prior experience in content strategy and management, particularly with global organizations, and demonstrate project management skills in campaigns or initiatives.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Spanish is required for this position. Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, while knowledge of other official UN languages, such as French, is considered an asset. This linguistic capability is crucial for effective communication and engagement with diverse audiences.
