Job Overview:
The role of the Individual Consultant for SCL and MM is to establish Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) with multiple rostered individual consultants to provide UNICEF with reliable access to specialized support in Social and Behavior Change (SCL) and Monitoring and Evaluation (MM). The consultants will be responsible for collecting and interpreting insights from communities, monitoring emerging claims across both digital and offline spaces, and applying these findings to enhance design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design, communication planning, and risk response strategies. This position is crucial for ensuring that UNICEF teams can leverage consistent expertise for capacity building, analytical work, strategic guidance, and knowledge sharing, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of UNICEF programs globally.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with UNICEF teams to collect and analyze community insights and feedback.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging claims and trends in both digital and offline environments.
  • Provide strategic guidance on program design and communication planning based on collected data.
  • Support capacity building initiatives within UNICEF by sharing expertise and best practices.
  • Engage in knowledge sharing activities to enhance the overall effectiveness of UNICEF's programs.
  • Ensure that all activities align with UNICEF's mission and adhere to its standards and principles.
  • Participate in regular meetings and workshops to discuss findings and recommendations with UNICEF staff.
  • Prepare and present reports on insights and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in social and behavior change communication and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity building and knowledge sharing within an organizational context.
  • Familiarity with UNICEF's mission, values, and operational frameworks is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in social sciences, public health, international development, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset.

Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in social and behavior change communication, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields is required. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of child rights and development, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the regions where UNICEF operates, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.

This position is a consultancy role under a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) arrangement, which may involve multiple contracts over a specified period.
