Job Overview:
As a Platform Engineer at EBRD, you will play a crucial role in leading the transformation of cloud-native architectures and containerized microservices on the Azure platform. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, and supporting hyperscale Azure architectures that are secure, highly available, and resilient. You will be involved in creating CI/CD pipelines, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and utilizing observability tools to ensure the robustness of enterprise-scale platforms. This position requires a proactive approach to consulting across various teams, embedding DevOps best practices, and troubleshooting a wide range of issues from infrastructure to application performance. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Platform Engineer include but are not limited to: designing and implementing hyperscale cloud architectures, supporting microservice-oriented and containerized solutions, consulting on DevOps methodologies with other teams, and troubleshooting application issues. You will also be responsible for setting up CI/CD pipelines for production deployments, managing configuration and package dependencies, and utilizing both commercial and open-source observability tools. Additionally, you will provision platforms using IaC tools, manage on-premise infrastructure, and migrate workloads between on-premise and cloud environments. Familiarity with re-architecting applications for hyperscale cloud environments is also essential.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess intermediate to advanced technology certifications relevant to the role, as well as entry-level service management certifications such as ITIL Foundation. A robust understanding of software development principles, infrastructure management, and performance monitoring approaches is crucial. Experience working with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners is also highly valued. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud architectures and microservices, along with a proven track record of applying DevOps practices effectively.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required for this position. Advanced degrees or specialized training in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, or related areas may be advantageous and enhance a candidate's qualifications.

Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience in cloud-native environments, particularly with Microsoft Azure. A proven track record of working with container orchestration tools and enterprise-scale applications is essential. Experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines and managing production deployments is also required. The role demands a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application performance and infrastructure management, making prior experience in similar roles highly beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the EBRD's operational regions may be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
