Job Overview: The Operations Analyst position within the World Bank's Maghreb Country Management Unit (CMU) is a critical role that supports the management of the Bank's portfolio and pipeline of lending operations and non-lending activities in Morocco and the surrounding region. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Operations Officer and the Morocco Operations Team, contributing to the implementation of the Country Partnership Framework and ensuring effective engagement with various stakeholders, including clients and development partners. This role requires a proactive approach to managing operational tasks, monitoring project progress, and providing analytical support to enhance the effectiveness of the Bank's initiatives in the Maghreb region. The Operations Analyst will play a key role in facilitating communication and collaboration among team members and external partners, ensuring that the CMU's objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Operations Analyst will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Supporting the CMU in managing the portfolio and pipeline of lending operations and non-lending activities, including trust fund management.
Liaising with clients and coordinating with development partners and other external stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration on projects.
Assisting in the monitoring of operations within the Maghreb department, providing insights and updates on project status and performance.
Supporting the implementation of the Country Partnership Framework and the CMU's engagement in the Maghreb region.
Assisting in country program management, including business planning, work program preparation, budget allocation, and monitoring of work program and budget implementation.
Supporting the CMU's deliverables and portfolio milestones, including lending deliverables, effectiveness deadlines, and project monitoring.
Planning and preparing for portfolio quality, disbursement, and pipeline reviews in collaboration with government and WB's operations units.
Providing quality assurance reviews for key documents, including Project Appraisal Documents and Implementation Completion Reports.
Contributing to the preparation of management briefs and complex internal reports, as well as supporting senior management visits and events.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Operations Analyst position must possess a Master's level degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in operations or a related field. They should demonstrate excellent analytical, research, operational, and technical skills, with the ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical approaches for Bank operational work. Proficiency in data handling and presentation software, including PowerPoint and Excel, is essential. Candidates should also have proven problem-solving skills and the ability to apply these skills in analyzing project issues and best practices. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines with a proactive approach are crucial. Experience in a country office and familiarity with operational processes in one or more regions would be advantageous. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are required, along with the ability to convey ideas clearly and tactfully to staff and managers at all levels.
