Job Overview:
The Storekeeper position at UNRWA involves overseeing the management of supplies and inventory within the agency's operational framework. The incumbent will be responsible for receiving incoming supplies, monitoring the loading and unloading processes, and ensuring that all items are properly stored, labeled, and organized in designated areas. The role requires maintaining accurate ERP store records to facilitate real-time tracking of inventory levels and movements, as well as ensuring compliance with warehouse guidelines. The Storekeeper will also be tasked with issuing stock and inventory items through the ERP system, optimizing storage space, and implementing efficient inventory management practices. This position is crucial for minimizing losses and ensuring accountability within the supply chain, as well as assisting in the preparation of reports on inventory status and supply chain performance. The Storekeeper will report to the Associate Administrative Officer and will not have any direct supervisees, but will play a key role in the overall efficiency of the agency's logistics-operations" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">logistics operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Storekeeper's duties and responsibilities include:
  • Receiving incoming supplies and monitoring the loading and unloading processes to ensure proper handling.
  • Inspecting received supplies for quality and quantity, and maintaining accurate records of these inspections.
  • Keeping up-to-date ERP store records to track inventory levels and movements in real-time.
  • Issuing stock and inventory items through the ERP system based on authorized supply documents and maintaining proper documentation.
  • Optimizing the use of storage space while ensuring compliance with safety, hygiene, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards to prevent accidents.
  • Implementing efficient inventory management practices, including stock taking, cycle counting, and stock reconciliation.
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports regarding inventory status, stock levels, and supply chain performance.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess successful completion of full Secondary Education, along with two years of post-secondary technical education or training in relevant fields such as inventory management, logistics, storekeeping, supply chain management, business administration, accounting, or related areas. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience as a storekeeper or in a similar role, demonstrating a solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures. It is also essential for candidates to confirm their residency in the West Bank or Jerusalem and provide their ID number if applicable, as this is a desirable qualification for the position.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Storekeeper position includes successful completion of full Secondary Education, complemented by two years of post-secondary technical education or training in fields related to inventory management, logistics, storekeeping, supply chain management, business administration, accounting, or other relevant disciplines. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of inventory management and ensuring compliance with agency standards.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience as a storekeeper or in a similar capacity. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage inventory effectively, maintain accurate records, and adhere to safety and compliance standards within a warehouse or storage environment. Candidates should also be prepared to provide details of their work experience in the application process, as this will be a key factor in the evaluation of their suitability for the role.

Languages:
For this position, proficiency in English and Arabic is required. English is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat, and candidates must demonstrate a minimum proficiency level of UN Level II in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Arabic is also essential, with a minimum proficiency level of UN Level I required. Knowledge of French is considered an asset but is not mandatory for this role.

Additional Notes:
The Storekeeper position is a Fixed Term Appointment for one year, which includes a one-year probation period. There is a possibility of extension based on the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need for the position. The grade for this role is Grade 07, with a monthly basic salary of 881.60 USD, payable in Jordanian Dinar at the UN monthly exchange rate. Additional benefits include a monthly Provident Fund contribution of 15.4% of the basic salary paid by the Agency, compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and a dependency allowance if applicable. Employees are also entitled to sick leave, maternity leave, and paternity leave as specified.
