Job Overview: The ICT Technician position is crucial for ensuring the effective management and operation of computer lab facilities within the training center. The incumbent will report to the Deputy Principal of the Training Centre and will be responsible for overseeing the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, maintenance, and proper functioning of ICT resources. This role requires a proactive approach to managing computer lab resources, ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements, and conducting regular audits of ICT equipment. The technician will also provide technical support to students and instructors, facilitating user training and addressing any technical challenges that arise. The position demands a blend of administrative and technical responsibilities, making it essential for the incumbent to possess strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to enhancing the user experience in the training center.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the ICT Technician include:
Administrative Responsibilities: - Overseeing the security and maintenance of computer lab facilities and equipment. - Maintaining accurate inventory records of all ICT assets and monitoring laboratory usage. - Ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements and coordinating with the Field IT Office for any regulatory concerns. - Conducting regular audits of ICT equipment and systems to identify gaps in inventory, security, or compliance. - Developing and implementing procedures for effective management of computer lab resources.
Technical Responsibilities: - Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and operating systems. - Performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs, and coordinating major issues with FIMTO. - Managing Microsoft Office 365 accounts for instructors and students, including updates and password resets. - Diagnosing and resolving network and system issues in the training center. - Replacing consumable items and peripherals for various ICT devices as needed. - Assisting in recommending new ICT equipment and software purchases.
User Support: - Providing guidance and technical assistance to students, instructors, and administrative staff. - Facilitating user training on hardware, software applications, and online platforms. - Acting as the primary point of contact for user feedback and suggestions for improving ICT services.
Performing other relevant tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a university degree from an accredited institution in computer science, IT, networks, or a related field. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in network administration, hardware maintenance, and software support. Additional Notes: The position is a Fixed Term Appointment for one year, including a one-year probation period, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The grade for this position is Grade 12, with a monthly basic salary of USD 1,259.40, payable in Jordanian Dinar at the UN monthly exchange rate. Additional benefits include a monthly Provident Fund contribution, compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and a dependency allowance if applicable. The agency also provides sick leave, maternity leave, and paternity leave. Only candidates residing in the West Bank or Jerusalem and within commuting distance of the duty station are eligible to apply. The agency will not facilitate work permits, and applicants must have the necessary authorization to work in the duty station at the time of application.
