Job Overview: The HR and Administration Manager position at DRC is crucial for ensuring the effective management of human resources and administrative functions within the organization. This role involves overseeing HR policies, recruitment processes, and employee relations, while also managing administrative tasks that support the overall operations of the organization. The HR and Administration Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with DRC policies and local labor laws, fostering a positive work environment that promotes staff well-being and productivity. Duties and Responsibilities: The HR and Administration Manager will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures in line with DRC’s standards and local regulations.
Managing the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding of new employees.
Overseeing employee performance management and development programs to enhance staff skills and career growth.
Ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, addressing any legal issues that may arise.
Maintaining accurate employee records and managing payroll processes.
Coordinating training and development initiatives to build staff capacity.
Supporting the administration of employee benefits and compensation packages.
Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth operational processes and effective communication.
Addressing employee grievances and fostering a positive workplace culture. 1
Managing logistics and administrative support for field operations, including procurement and resource allocation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the HR and Administration Manager position must possess a strong set of qualifications, including:
Strong understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required for this position. Additional certifications in HR or management are considered an asset. A mechanical background is preferred for understanding the operational aspects of the organization.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in human resources and administration, with a strong preference for experience in the humanitarian sector or conflict-affected areas. Experience in managing HR functions in a challenging environment is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, along with proficiency in local languages such as Dinka and Arabic. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage and may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The position is based in Juba, Sudan, with a contract length of 3 months. The role is classified under Band J, and the start date is as soon as possible. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for employees on national contracts.
