Job Overview:
The Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the global rebrand marketing campaign for Mercy Corps. This position is crucial for managing the project from its preparation phase through to the launch, ensuring that the campaign effectively communicates the new brand identity and engages audiences worldwide. The Senior Project Manager will report to the Rebrand PMO and collaborate closely with the Marketing VP, managing timelines, deliverables, and vendor relationships. This role requires exceptional project management skills, stakeholder engagement, and change management expertise to navigate a complex, multi-workstream initiative. The successful candidate will coordinate efforts across internal teams and external agency partners, ensuring that creative development, media buys, and campaign execution align with global brand standards. The position is fixed-term and may involve occasional travel, emphasizing the need for strong organizational skills and attention to detail to keep the project on track.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks, including:
  • Partnering with the Marketing team, Rebrand PMO, and agency partners to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing campaign plan that aligns with the global rebrand objectives.
  • Ensuring that campaign strategies support Mercy Corps’ goals to elevate brand identity, engage new audiences, and enhance unrestricted fundraising efforts.
  • Coordinating planning across multiple workstreams, including creative development, media buys, and digital execution, while ensuring alignment with established timelines and budgets.
  • Acting as the primary liaison between internal teams and external agency partners, facilitating clear communication and timely updates.
  • Managing project timelines, deliverables, and dependencies across various campaign components, monitoring progress, and escalating risks as necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of plans, milestones, and decisions using project management tools like Wrike.
  • Overseeing the approvals process for campaign creative, ensuring that all assets meet brand standards and stakeholder requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and agency partners to foster collaboration and smooth execution of the campaign.
  • Facilitating regular coordination calls and working groups to ensure alignment and resolve challenges. 1
  • Supporting change management efforts by communicating key messages and addressing concerns throughout the campaign lifecycle. 1
  • Contributing to after-action reviews and lessons learned to inform future global initiatives. 1
  • Actively integrating safeguarding principles and Mercy Corps values into all aspects of work.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a BA/S or equivalent in a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a preference for certification in project management. A proven track record of managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects in global or multi-disciplinary settings is essential. Experience in marketing, branding, or creative campaign management, particularly in an international or nonprofit context, is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills are required to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities effectively. Candidates should demonstrate highly effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly. Familiarity with project management platforms (such as Wrike) and the Microsoft 365 suite is necessary. The ability to develop strategic project plans that align with organizational goals is crucial, as is experience working with senior and executive-level leadership.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Candidates with advanced degrees or specialized training in project management, marketing, or related disciplines may have an advantage. The organization values educational qualifications that demonstrate a strong foundation in project management principles and practices, as well as an understanding of marketing strategies and brand development.

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant experience in project management, particularly in managing large-scale projects that involve multiple stakeholders. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to navigate complex project environments and deliver results on time and within budget.

Languages:
While English is the mandatory language for this position, proficiency in additional languages is considered a valuable asset. Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term role during the length of the rebranding project and may require occasional travel, both domestically and internationally. The successful candidate will be expected to work full-time and may have the option to work remotely within the United States.
