Job Overview: The position of student assistant involves coordinating the well-established network family initiative in Region Midtjylland, aimed at helping refugees and individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds achieve a better everyday life. The student will work approximately 10 hours a week, engaging in various tasks that support the integration efforts of the organization. This role is crucial in facilitating connections between volunteers and families or individuals from refugee backgrounds, fostering long-term personal relationships based on trust, humanity, and equality. The student will be responsible for organizing introductory meetings, facilitating matches, and providing ongoing support to ensure successful integration experiences. Duties and Responsibilities: The student assistant will undertake several key responsibilities, including:
Conducting introductory interviews with new volunteers to inform them about the project and assess their suitability for the network family initiative.
Facilitating initial meetings between volunteers and individuals from refugee or ethnic minority backgrounds to ensure clear expectations and sustainable matches.
Providing ongoing support to established matches through regular phone check-ins to address any challenges and offer guidance.
Recruiting new volunteers by responding to inquiries, creating recruitment materials, and posting on relevant platforms in collaboration with the regional consultant and communications department.
Communicating with the Job and Integration department of Aarhus Municipality, including receiving referrals and preparing quarterly and annual reports.
Planning quarterly social events and skill-building activities for participants and volunteers to enhance community engagement and support.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be students enrolled in a relevant higher education program, preferably with experience in volunteer work and familiarity with the target group of refugees and ethnic minorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and manage their workload efficiently.
