Job Overview: The Technical Facilities Technician will be responsible for overseeing critical facilities systems and installations, ensuring their efficient operation and compliance with safety standards. This role involves acting as the Point of Contact (POC) for various technical installations, including UPS systems, diesel generators, and chillers. The technician will participate in the development and execution of preventive maintenance plans, conduct regular inspections, and report any anomalies. Additionally, the technician will monitor and adapt the settings of technical installations to ensure their safe and efficient operation. The role also includes supervising external contractors, assisting in drafting technical procedures, and maintaining technical documentation. The technician will ensure continuity of service on-site, including providing a 24/7 standby first-line maintenance service for critical installations. The position requires collaboration with various teams and participation in projects related to technical solutions and operational assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Technical Facilities Technician include: acting as the Point of Contact (POC) for critical facilities systems; ensuring preventive maintenance and compliance with legal and safety standards; conducting regular inspections and reporting anomalies; monitoring and adapting settings of technical installations; initiating and supervising second-line maintenance; assisting in drafting technical and emergency procedures; maintaining technical documentation; ensuring continuity of service on-site; providing a 24/7 standby first-line maintenance service; taking responsibility for interventions as per Health and Safety Policy; assisting in projects and relevant activities; contributing to requirement analysis and technical solutions; and carrying out any other tasks in line with the main purpose of the job.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed a post-secondary education or secondary education that grants access to post-secondary education, specifically in fields such as Electricity, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), or Engineering. This education must meet the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 4 or higher. Additionally, candidates should possess relevant professional experience of at least 3 years. Internal candidates can verify their in-house experience equivalency on the intranet. Certifications such as BHV (Primary Intervention Team), NEN1010, NEN3140, VCAVOL, and Fire Detection and Public Address System are advantageous and may need to be obtained by the end of the probation period.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a post-secondary education or secondary education that provides access to post-secondary education in relevant fields such as Electricity, HVAC, or Engineering. This education must align with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 4 or higher, ensuring that candidates have the necessary technical knowledge and skills to perform the job effectively.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience, particularly in the maintenance and management of Electrical, Electro-mechanical, and HVAC systems. Experience with emergency procedures and knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems is also essential. Languages: Proficiency in English and Dutch at levels C1 or C2 is mandatory for this position, as these are the working languages of the Agency. Candidates must demonstrate their language skills in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Knowledge of French is also beneficial but not mandatory.
Additional Notes: The position is a full-time role with a duration of 5 years, subject to renewal under specific conditions. The total duration of employment, including renewals, may not exceed nine years. The selected candidate will be appointed at the grade specified in the vacancy notice, and internal staff with determined contracts will be offered a similar appointment duration. The role operates under a hybrid working model, allowing for a combination of onsite presence and remote work, although full-time remote work is not permitted.
