Job Overview: The Business Solutions Analyst position is integral to the Directorate Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre, specifically within the Product Management service. The role involves contributing to the development and implementation of product strategies that align with operational goals. The selected candidate will engage with business stakeholders and domain experts to ensure that product roadmaps and lifecycles are effectively managed. The analyst will also oversee product delivery processes, ensuring adherence to workflows and addressing any risks or challenges that may arise. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Business Solutions Analyst include:
Collaborating with business stakeholders to develop and implement product vision and strategy.
Performing business needs analysis to translate operational needs into technical specifications.
Validating deliverables to ensure they meet business requirements and comply with safety and quality standards.
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including development teams and other product owners, to align priorities.
Overseeing product delivery processes, ensuring compliance with established workflows and monitoring milestones.
Addressing product-related issues through effective decision-making and trade-off analyses.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of products by enhancing tools, processes, and practices.
Identifying operational risks and proposing corrective actions to address challenges.
Participating in workshops and cross-domain projects to share expertise and align service-level activities with operational objectives. 1

Required Qualifications: Candidates must meet one of the following educational and professional experience requirements:
Completion of third-level studies in a relevant field (such as aeronautical engineering or air traffic management) at European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 6, followed by at least four years of relevant professional experience.
Completion of third-level studies in a relevant field at EQF Level 7, followed by at least three years of relevant professional experience. Internal candidates may refer to the intranet for equivalent in-house experience. Additionally, candidates should have experience in gathering and drafting specifications for system development and coordinating projects related to software development. A solid understanding of Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Air Traffic Flow and Capacity Management (ATFCM) systems is essential, along with knowledge of enroute ATC procedures and concepts.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a degree in a relevant field such as aeronautical engineering or air traffic management. The degree must meet the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 6 or Level 7 standards, which indicates a higher education qualification that is recognized across Europe. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of air traffic management and the technical specifications required for the role.
Experience: The level of experience needed for the Business Solutions Analyst position includes a minimum of three to four years of relevant professional experience, depending on the educational qualifications. Candidates should have a proven track record in gathering and drafting comprehensive specifications for system development, as well as experience in coordinating and overseeing projects related to software development. Familiarity with ATC and ATFCM systems is highly desirable, as is experience in the aviation sector.
Languages: Proficiency in English at level C2 is mandatory for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the Agency. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively in English, particularly in a professional context. Knowledge of French is also beneficial, as it is the second working language of the Agency, and candidates who possess this skill may have an advantage in the selection process.
Additional Notes: The position is offered on a full-time basis with a contract duration of five years, which may be extended or converted based on performance and organizational needs. The selected candidate will be required to complete a probationary period of nine months before being established in the post. The appointment may be renewed multiple times, but the total duration, including all renewals, cannot exceed nine years.
