Job Overview: The Driver position at the G-2 level is crucial for providing reliable and safe driving services to UNICEF staff and officials. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide reliable and safe driving services for UNICEF staff and officials, including transporting UN personnel, visitors, and delivering or collecting mail and documents.
Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport, assisting with basic visa and customs formalities when required.
Maintain the assigned vehicle in good running condition by addressing minor repairs, arranging for major repairs, and ensuring timely oil changes, tire checks, brake inspections, and car washing.
Ensure the availability of all required documents and supplies in the vehicle, including vehicle insurance, registration, logs, office directory, city map, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
Keep track of insurance and tax formalities related to the vehicle.
Demonstrate a commitment to UNICEF's core values and competencies, including building partnerships, ethical awareness, achieving results, embracing change, managing ambiguity, strategic thinking, and collaboration.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must have a secondary education, a valid driver’s license, and a thorough understanding of local driving rules and regulations. A minimum of two years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system with a proven safe driving record is required.
