Job Overview:
The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Technical Director: Malaria, MNCH and Nutrition will play a crucial role in the EpiC project, which is funded by the U.S. Government and aims to achieve HIV epidemic control and improve health outcomes for at-risk populations. This position requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, implementing partners, and USG personnel. The Technical Director will oversee the delivery of life-saving interventions related to malaria, maternal, newborn, and child health, and nutrition. This includes managing malaria services, ensuring effective case management, vector control, and prevention strategies, as well as providing comprehensive MNCH services. The role demands a high level of technical expertise and leadership to guide the project’s strategic direction and ensure that all activities align with best practices and achieve desired health outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technical Director will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: overseeing the malaria, MNCH, and nutrition components of the project; providing technical guidance and support to staff and partners; ensuring that project activities are implemented according to global and national best practices; leading the development of technical documents and guidelines; monitoring project budgets in collaboration with finance staff; coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery; and representing FHI 360 at professional meetings and conferences. Additionally, the Technical Director will be expected to identify capacity gaps among project staff and develop strategies to address these gaps, as well as ensure that all technical deliverables meet USG requirements and contractual obligations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in malaria, MNCH, and nutrition, with the ability to manage complex projects and set realistic priorities. They should demonstrate in-depth knowledge of malaria epidemiology, case management, and health systems in sub-Saharan Africa. Proven experience in designing and implementing health interventions, particularly in malaria and MNCH, is essential. Strong skills in donor engagement, policy dialogue, and national program support are also required. The ability to influence and negotiate effectively with various stakeholders is crucial for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A Master’s Degree or its international equivalent in Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences, International Development, Human Development, or a related field is required. Project Management Certification is preferred, along with a clinical or entomology background with public health training.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 12 years of relevant experience in designing, managing, and evaluating malaria, MNCH, and nutrition programs. A minimum of 8 years in a leadership role is required, along with clinical experience and participation in national normative bodies or committees related to these fields. Experience with large projects funded by the USG is highly desirable, as is a history of relevant publications and presentations.

Languages:
Fluency in both French and English is mandatory, as the role requires effective communication with diverse stakeholders and the ability to present technical information clearly. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in Kinshasa, with a contract duration extending up to March 31, 2026, and is renewable based on project needs and funding.
