Job Overview:
The Economic Recovery Team Leader will play a crucial role in the implementation of Economic Recovery activities within the Sheraro North Tigray Field Office. This position involves supervising a team of Economic Recovery Assistants and Community Workers, ensuring effective communication between the team, communities, and stakeholders. The Team Leader will oversee project implementation, supported by the Economic Recovery Manager and Coordinator, and will be responsible for managing various livelihood activities, including crop and livestock production, off-farm income-generating activities, and the establishment of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). The role also includes conducting livelihood assessments and supporting the monitoring of project implementation and budgets, ensuring compliance with DRC and donor regulations. The Team Leader is expected to engage with communities to promote participation and ownership of economic recovery initiatives, thereby enhancing the overall impact of the program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Economic Recovery Team Leader will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: overseeing the verification of beneficiaries for livestock distribution, conducting Post-Distribution Monitoring surveys, managing the establishment of demonstration plots for climate-smart agricultural practices, supervising the installation of solar irrigation pumps, coordinating the distribution of livestock and veterinary inputs, and managing real-time activity tracking through Kobo Collect. Additionally, the Team Leader will establish partnerships with microfinance institutions to enhance access to financial services, provide guidance on business plan development, facilitate market linkages, and conduct community mobilization campaigns. The role also involves direct supervision of team members, capacity building through training programs, and ensuring accountability and transparency in project implementation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in agriculture and livelihood development programming, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role. Proven experience in implementing economic recovery or livelihood projects in humanitarian or development contexts is essential. Experience in establishing and managing Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) or similar initiatives, as well as demonstrated experience in Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) development, is highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience working with conflict-affected or displaced communities and possess strong team supervision and staff management skills.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Agribusiness, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree in one of these areas is desirable and may enhance a candidate's competitiveness for the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in agriculture and livelihood development programming. Additionally, 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity is required. Candidates should have a proven track record in implementing economic recovery or livelihood projects, particularly in humanitarian or development settings, and experience in managing community-based financial inclusion initiatives is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Additionally, proficiency in Tigrinya and Amharic is highly desirable, as these languages are essential for effective communication with local communities and stakeholders.

The contract for this position is for a duration of 6 months, classified as a National Contract under Band G – Management. The designated duty station is Sheraro, Tigray, with a start date of January 1, 202
