Job Overview: The Support Services Officer (English Teacher) position is designed to enhance the English language skills of DRC staff in Ukraine, particularly in Dnipro. This part-time role involves planning and delivering structured English language training tailored to the varying proficiency levels of employees. The primary objective is to strengthen staff capacity through effective communication skills, which are essential for their roles within the organization. The officer will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, conducting assessments, and providing individualized support to learners. This position not only focuses on teaching but also on monitoring and evaluating the progress of learners, ensuring that the training provided meets the diverse needs of the staff. Duties and Responsibilities: The Support Services Officer (English Teacher) will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: delivering both group and individual English classes tailored to various proficiency levels; assessing the English language skills of staff and accommodating classes accordingly; developing a structured teaching plan that aligns with staff schedules; tracking attendance and monitoring the progress of learners; adjusting teaching methods to support all learners effectively; providing periodic updates on learner progress to the line manager; and ensuring that the learning environment is positive and conducive to growth. The officer will also be expected to utilize innovative teaching techniques and tools to enhance the learning experience, including the potential use of AI-based resources and blended learning approaches that combine face-to-face instruction with digital support.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a University degree in English, Linguistics, Philology, Education, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience is required. Candidates should demonstrate proven experience in teaching English for at least one year, along with strong computer literacy, particularly in using the MS Office suite. The ability to design engaging and practical lessons with clear outcomes is essential, as are excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Candidates must also be capable of working independently and managing their time effectively, while maintaining a positive and supportive teaching style that fosters confidence among learners.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a University degree in English, Linguistics, Philology, Education, or any other relevant field. This foundational knowledge is critical for effectively teaching English and supporting learners at various proficiency levels. Additionally, candidates with recognized certifications in English proficiency will be viewed favorably, as these certifications validate their expertise and teaching capabilities.

Additional Notes: This position offers a fixed-term contract until 30th April 2026, contingent upon the successful completion of a 3-month probation period.
