Job Overview: The Online Volunteer position is integral to the success of the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026) initiative. The selected volunteers will be responsible for creating digital and outreach materials that will enhance the visibility of IVY 2026 in the Arab States Region. This role involves developing visually engaging content that draws public attention to the year-long celebration of volunteerism, promotes volunteer stories, and encourages meaningful action from individuals and organizations. The Online Volunteers will contribute to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 17, by inspiring participation in volunteer-driven initiatives that promote sustainable development across the region. The position requires creativity, digital skills, and a commitment to the values of volunteerism and sustainable development.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteers will work under the guidance of the IVY 2026 Regional Coordinator for the Arab States and are expected to fulfill the following duties:
Create 10 social media cards that are visually appealing and tailored for diverse audiences to promote IVY 202
Develop 4 templates that can be used for various outreach initiatives related to volunteerism.
Produce 2 engaging videos that highlight the importance of volunteerism and the objectives of IVY 202
Draft captions, short posts, key messages, and storytelling excerpts that align with UNV’s communication strategy.
Utilize the Trello board and its pre-drafted key messages as a foundation for content creation.
Translate the IVY 2026 Trello Board content into Arabic to ensure accessibility for Arabic-speaking audiences.
Share the finalized content across personal social media platforms to maximize outreach and engagement.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Online Volunteer position should possess the following qualifications:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Arabic.
Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software to create engaging visual content.
Familiarity with social media platforms and marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing strategies.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
A passion for volunteerism and sustainable development, with a commitment to promoting these values through creative content.
Educational Background: A background in communications, marketing, graphic design, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have relevant coursework or experience that demonstrates their ability to create effective digital content and engage audiences through social media.
Experience: While prior experience in volunteerism or non-profit organizations is advantageous, it is not mandatory. However, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of social media dynamics and content creation processes. Experience in graphic design or video production will be highly regarded.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages is considered a plus, as it may enhance outreach efforts to diverse audiences.
Additional Notes: This is a volunteer position, and as such, it does not offer financial compensation.
