IOM's mission includes providing return and reintegration assistance to Timorese individuals affected by the 1999 post-referendum violence, contributing to disarmament efforts, and implementing community stabilization programs. UNICEF's work emphasizes the well-being of children and adolescents, ensuring access to health, education, and protection services. The role involves conducting needs assessments, drafting campaign materials, and ensuring that messaging is culturally relevant and effective. The first month will focus on planning and content production, while the subsequent months will involve the rollout of the campaign materials across various platforms.

Produce various types of content, including human-centered stories, captions, hashtags, and short-form posts that align with the campaign's core messages.
Collaborate with IOM and UNICEF communications teams to ensure messaging consistency and adherence to editorial guidelines.
Adapt messaging strategies to effectively reach diverse audiences, including youth, border communities, and law enforcement personnel.
Participate in biweekly coordination calls and collaborate with fellow volunteers to ensure cohesive campaign efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to produce engaging content for various digital platforms.
Familiarity with social media and digital communication strategies.
Understanding of trafficking and migration issues, particularly in the context of Timor-Leste.
Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment and participate actively in coordination meetings.
Cultural sensitivity and awareness of the local context in Timor-Leste.
Educational Background: A background in communications, social sciences, international relations, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have relevant coursework or experience that demonstrates their understanding of communication strategies and community engagement.
Experience: Previous experience in communications, social media management, or community outreach is highly desirable. Experience working with vulnerable populations or in humanitarian contexts will be considered an asset. Familiarity with trafficking and migration issues is also beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications will be conducted in English. Knowledge of Tetum or Portuguese is a plus, as it may enhance engagement with local communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This is a remote volunteer position for a duration of 12 weeks, with the potential for extension based on the campaign's needs.
