Job Overview: The role of Head, Business Data, Intelligence & Analytics within the MIGA Finance and Risk Management Group (MIGFR) is pivotal in enhancing MIGA’s data and analytics capabilities. This senior position is responsible for modernizing the way MIGA accesses and utilizes data, thereby driving operational efficiencies and uncovering trends that are essential for scaling the WBG Guarantee Platform. The Head will report directly to the MIGFR Director and will be tasked with overseeing the design, development, and management of applications and dashboards that convert data into actionable insights. This role requires frequent collaboration with senior counterparts within the WBG and MIGA management, ensuring that data governance and quality are maintained while integrating various portfolios across the platform. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enabling teams to interact with a wide range of data, including operational, financial, and strategic information, in a more connected and integrated manner.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Head of Business Data, Intelligence & Analytics will lead the development and implementation of MIGA’s analytics function and information strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, risk management, and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing MIGA’s analytics function and information strategy to support business objectives and operational efficiency.
Ensuring that business applications and analytical capabilities leverage organizational knowledge and strategic insights for informed decision-making.
Overseeing the collection, management, and analysis of data to support decision-making across WBG’s guarantee products and portfolios, establishing data quality controls and governance.
Managing MIGA and WBG-GP’s guarantee and business intelligence platforms, ensuring robust data management and continuous improvement.
Driving the adoption of advanced analytics and digital tools to enhance operational effectiveness and responsiveness.
Collaborating with stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into data and application requirements, delivering actionable insights.
Contributing to the design and rollout of new products and guarantee structures, ensuring seamless integration into existing frameworks.
Serving as the key counterpart to MIGA’s Portfolio team for amendments impacting guarantee entry and related processes.
Leading change management initiatives related to business analytics and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making. 1
Representing MIGA in cross-functional working groups and advocating for interoperability across the WBG Guarantee Platform.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in finance, business analytics, and the development of applications and dashboards. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Additionally, candidates should have experience with product development and the integration of new financial products into business applications and reporting frameworks. Strong analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights. Familiarity with MIGA’s guarantee products, financial reporting, and related applications is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to engage and influence senior management and external partners effectively. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are also necessary, as is the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Educational Background: The position requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as accounting, finance, or business analytics. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills to perform effectively in this senior role.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in finance, business analytics, and the development of applications and dashboards.
