Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Finance Associate include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of budgets for UNFPA programs, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, including payments and reimbursements.
  • Collaborating with program staff to ensure that financial resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Supporting the preparation of financial reports for donors and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial management.
  • Participating in audits and ensuring that all financial records are maintained in accordance with UNFPA standards.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in financial management software and tools is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to UNFPA's mission and values, including a focus on gender equality and women's empowerment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively convey financial information to various stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required for the Programme Finance Associate position. Additional certifications in financial management or accounting (such as CPA or ACCA) are advantageous and may enhance a candidate's qualifications.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably within an international organization or a non-profit setting.
