Job Overview: The Knowledge Management Consultant will play a crucial role in the UNICEF Division of Analysis, Planning and Monitoring (DAPM) by supporting the development and implementation of a global integrated Knowledge Management (KM) system. This system aims to enhance the accessibility of high-quality knowledge resources and experiences relevant to UNICEF programming. The consultant will focus on two key components: the Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP) and the Virtual Skill Share (VSS) platform. The KEP allows UNICEF staff to share experiences, lessons learned, and best practices, while the VSS consolidates internal knowledge exchange and skill-sharing sessions. The consultant will work closely with technology developers and user teams to ensure that the systems meet user needs and facilitate effective knowledge management across the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's responsibilities include identifying user requirements and customizations for the KEP and VSS, liaising with the development team to ensure functionalities align with user needs, providing guidelines and support for content readiness, and conducting capacity building and training sessions. Specific deliverables include creating user requirements specifications and customization documents, monthly summary reports on issues and resolutions, content migration plans and reports, and capacity building plans and packages. The consultant will also be responsible for ensuring that the systems are effectively deployed and utilized by the teams involved.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Knowledge Management, Business Management, Project Management, Information Systems, Information Management, or related fields. They should have at least 2 years of professional experience in Knowledge Management, with demonstrated project management skills specific to KM systems. Experience in preparing user-centric reports, identifying business requirements, and familiarity with user experience (UX) design is essential. Knowledge of UNICEF systems and existing KEP and VSS platforms is considered an asset.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Knowledge Management, Business Management, Project Management, Information Systems, or Information Management is required for this position.
