Job Overview: The consultancy aims to conduct targeted industry research in the impact investing sector and propose at least five high-potential products or engagement strategies for UNICEF. The consultant will engage with funds, foundations, and philanthropists to raise funds and explore creative financing approaches while increasing global brand awareness. Specific objectives include mapping the impact investing landscape, documenting best practices, conducting interviews with industry stakeholders, and co-creating pilot concepts with detailed budgets and timelines. The role requires strategic intelligence, market mapping, and collaboration with UNICEF stakeholders to validate findings and share knowledge.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct targeted analysis of relevant partners aligned with UNICEF's mission, identifying and profiling top funds, foundations, and individuals.
Conduct in-depth interviews with industry representatives to capture insights on social responsibility and partnership preferences.
Produce a Best Practice Compendium with case studies of successful collaborations in impact investing.
Co-design five pilot concepts detailing activation models, potential partners, implementation steps, and projected ROI.
Facilitate validation workshops with UNICEF stakeholders to test findings and align on next steps, delivering comprehensive workshop materials.
Required Qualifications: A university degree (Bachelor's or higher) in Finance, Social Science, Technology, or a relevant field is mandatory. A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in industry research, particularly in impact investing and philanthropy, is required. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for bridging technology, innovation, and finance for social good, along with strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills. Familiarity with social responsibility theses or nonprofit-business partnerships is essential.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a university degree (Bachelor's or higher) in a relevant field such as Finance, Social Science, or Technology. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of impact investing and social responsibility.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in industry research related to impact investing, equity markets, and philanthropy. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in environments that bridge technology and finance for social good, demonstrating their ability to navigate complex partnerships and innovative solutions.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in the impact investing sector.
Additional Notes: The consultancy may require travel for a stay of four nights in Stockholm or another location determined by the contracting manager. The consultant is responsible for arranging their own travel, including visa and travel insurance. Payment will be based on the submission of agreed deliverables, and UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if deliverables do not meet required standards.
