Job Posting Organization:
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the designated entity within the United Nations system that addresses environmental issues at both global and regional levels. Established to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus, UNEP plays a crucial role in keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. The Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP), which is led by UNEP along with other prominent organizations such as the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the World Bank, serves as a global community of policy, business, and finance professionals committed to generating, managing, and sharing knowledge on the transition to an inclusive green and circular economy. The mission of GGKP is to empower decision-makers with evidence-based knowledge to effectively contribute to this transition, utilizing platforms such as the Green Policy Platform, Green Industry Platform, and Green Finance Platform, along with an interactive community space known as the Green Forum. GGKP also provides targeted knowledge management, communication, and stakeholder engagement services for various development projects, focusing on addressing knowledge gaps in green and circular economy theory and practice through collaboration and coordinated research.

Job Overview:
The consultant will play a pivotal role in curating the data collection and provision pipeline using the GGKP data catalogue. This involves identifying sources, collating data, and integrating it into the data catalogue. The consultant will also be responsible for configuring, deploying, and maintaining data visualization dashboards using Infogram, which will be connected to the GGKP data catalogue. Additionally, the consultant will configure, deploy, and maintain data-collection forms based on Drupal, support the editing, curation, and publication of knowledge products through GGKP’s content management system, and maintain mini-websites hosted on GGKP’s main knowledge platforms. Another critical aspect of the role includes supporting quality control of the performance and behavior of GGKP’s knowledge collation, classification, and curation API and AI models throughout their development and deployment workflow. Furthermore, the consultant will provide training to GGKP and project teams on the use of data collection forms, the data catalogue, and mini-websites, ensuring that all stakeholders are equipped to utilize these tools effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will engage in several key activities, including:
  • Curating the data collection and provision pipeline using the GGKP data catalogue, which involves identifying relevant data sources, collating data, and integrating it into the catalogue.
  • Configuring, deploying, and maintaining data visualization dashboards based on Infogram, ensuring they are effectively connected to the GGKP data catalogue.
  • Configuring, deploying, and maintaining data-collection forms based on Drupal, facilitating efficient data gathering.
  • Supporting the editing, curation, and publication of knowledge products through GGKP’s content management system, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Configuring and maintaining mini-websites hosted through GGKP’s main knowledge platforms, enhancing accessibility to information.
  • Supporting quality control of the performance and behavior of GGKP’s knowledge collation, classification, and curation API and AI models throughout their development and deployment workflow.
  • Providing training to GGKP and project teams on the use of data collection forms, the data catalogue, and mini-websites, ensuring all users are proficient in utilizing these resources.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, knowledge management, data science, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in knowledge and data management is essential. Candidates must have experience with content management systems and data pipelines, as well as data quality control. Experience working with international organizations is preferred, along with an understanding of AI and API solutions, basic architecture, and familiarity with Drupal.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, knowledge management, data science, or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the technical aspects of knowledge and data management required for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in knowledge and data management. This experience should include working with content management systems, data pipelines, and ensuring data quality control. Experience in international organizations is preferred, indicating a familiarity with global standards and practices in knowledge management.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is required for this position, as English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate in a multilingual environment.
