Job Overview:
The Senior Specialist, Social Media and Digital Communications will play a pivotal role in shaping the public voice of Save the Children Canada (SCC) across digital and social channels. Reporting to the Head of Communications, Media and Public Relations, this position is integral to the Brand and Communications Team. The Senior Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing social media and digital communication strategies that align with SCC's goals in brand advocacy, communications, and fundraising. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker who can manage social media channels effectively, create engaging content, and ensure that all communications adhere to the organization's policies and standards. The position also involves monitoring and analyzing social media performance, producing creative content, and managing digital campaigns to enhance the organization's visibility and engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Specialist include developing and executing a strategic social media plan with measurable KPIs, managing SCC's social media channels, creating and posting engaging content, launching and managing digital campaigns, supporting media visibility, contributing to influencer engagement strategies, delivering social media training, monitoring and analyzing social media performance, producing creative content for digital platforms, designing digital communications materials, managing digital production processes, deploying newsletters and email campaigns, maintaining website content, and generating reports on web and digital channel performance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in the International Development sector, NGOs, or not-for-profit organizations is preferred. Advanced knowledge of website and social media best practices, AODA, and CASL is essential. Proficiency in various software and tools, including online acquisition (AdWords), reporting tools (Facebook Insights, Google Analytics), and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) is required. Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are necessary to build relationships across diverse audiences and organizational settings.

Educational Background:
A post-secondary education in a relevant field is required, which may include communications, marketing, public relations, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience in a similar role may also be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in social media management and digital communications. Experience in the International Development sector, NGOs, or not-for-profit organizations is highly desirable. Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to work under pressure within tight timelines are also essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is considered an asset. The ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences is crucial for this role.

Additional Notes:
This is a 12-month contract position with a salary range of $75,543.87 - $90,652.65 CAD, depending on skills and experience.
