Job Overview: The Programme Advisor, Assistance role is pivotal within the NRC Myanmar mission, focusing on the nationalization of Core Competency Specialists in the areas of Shelter, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene, and Cash. The role requires a strong technical background in assistance and is designed for a dynamic leader who is passionate about coaching and mentoring. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Advisor, Assistance include: providing technical leadership for program quality and assurance; supporting the implementation of programs; managing staff effectively; representing NRC to donors and assisting in the development of funding proposals; recruiting national Core Competency Specialists; developing capacity-building plans and ensuring the delivery of technical training and support; coaching, mentoring, and providing shadowing support as required; and fostering an environment that encourages staff development and addresses challenges. The role also involves collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance program delivery and ensuring that the needs of the communities served are met through effective programming.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Programme Advisor, Assistance position should possess expertise and experience in assistance within a humanitarian or recovery context. A proven track record in mentoring, coaching, and capacity building is essential, along with expertise in developing capacity-building plans. Candidates should have exposure to strategic processes leadership and experience in proposal and funding development. Familiarity with complex and volatile contexts, particularly in Myanmar, is highly desirable. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for effective communication.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position typically includes a relevant degree in a field related to humanitarian assistance, social sciences, or a similar discipline. The contract duration is for 12 months, with approximately 20% travel expected. The position is classified as Grade 9 in NRC’s International Salary Scale, which comes with a competitive compensation and benefits package.
