Job Overview:
The Strategic Initiatives Consultant will support UNICEF’s fundraising and marketing efforts towards the entertainment sector, particularly focusing on the music, arts, and gaming industries. This role is crucial for developing and executing comprehensive global marketing campaigns and fundraising strategies through UNICEF’s platform, Every Play for Every Child. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Corporate Alliances Manager, bridging marketing and partnership activations to ensure significant global visibility and strong financial results. The position emphasizes event fundraising and aims to build a pipeline of partnership opportunities while effectively monetizing UNICEF’s platform.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will lead and oversee the development of strategies for the music and arts industries, focusing on events. Key responsibilities include: developing UNICEF’s fundraising strategy for the arts, maintaining operational processes, delivering global marketing campaigns for B2B and B2C audiences, creating fundraising mechanisms, capacity building with fundraising markets, leading global campaign planning and engagements, participating in global partnership efforts, creating fundraising and marketing assets, coordinating marketing and communications, and managing budgets, work planning, reporting, and KPIs. The consultant will also lead a global market working group and facilitate workshops.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to design and implement complex marketing and fundraising initiatives. Flexibility and independence are essential, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A strong customer service approach and the ability to navigate complex environments and build relationships with stakeholders are also required. The consultant should demonstrate a strong work ethic, confidence, initiative, and enthusiasm as a team player.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in Marketing, Communications, the humanities, journalism, broadcast, or a relevant field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying professional experience may be accepted. Additional training in a related field is considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of related experience in fundraising, partnership development, project management, and knowledge management is required. Experience working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, philanthropy, and corporate audiences is essential, as is proven experience in managing competing priorities and leading fundraising events. Experience in content development, working with creative teams, and familiarity with the NGO sector, particularly UNICEF or UN, is advantageous. Experience in the entertainment industry is also a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of an additional UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is considered an asset, as is knowledge of a UNICEF National Committee language.

Additional Notes:
The consultant will work remotely, with potential travel covered separately by UNICEF. Payment will be based on the submission of deliverables and may be withheld if performance is unsatisfactory. The consultant must adhere to UNICEF's travel policies and ensure they have the necessary travel and medical insurance. Selected candidates will undergo rigorous background checks, including verification of academic credentials and employment history.
