The primary focus of this internship is to develop digital content aimed at international audiences, enhancing the visibility and understanding of ESA's activities. Interns will engage with a professional team to learn about modern communication strategies, particularly in relation to the launch of ESA's new portal. This role will involve creating accessible content, fact-checking, researching, and potentially contributing to audiovisual materials. Interns will also explore how to effectively communicate with diverse audiences, ensuring that ESA's messages are coherent and engaging across multiple languages.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: researching and developing digital content for ESA's new communication platforms; fact-checking articles and information sheets to ensure accuracy; assisting in translation checks to maintain linguistic integrity; contributing to the creation of audiovisual content for public distribution; collaborating with team members to devise strategies for engaging target audiences; and participating in team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and initiatives. Interns will also be expected to familiarize themselves with ESA's corporate communication methods and contribute to the overall mission of enhancing public understanding of space activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be university students, preferably at the master's level, and must demonstrate that they will remain enrolled at their university for the entire duration of the internship. A strong command of English or French is required, with native-level proficiency in German being mandatory. Knowledge of Polish and/or Czech is considered an asset, as is familiarity with other languages spoken in ESA member states. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in communication, public relations, media studies, or a related field. A background in international relations or languages may also be beneficial, particularly for understanding the diverse audiences ESA engages with. Candidates must be able to provide proof of their university enrollment for the duration of the internship.
Experience: While prior experience in communication or public relations is not mandatory, any relevant internships, volunteer work, or academic projects that demonstrate an understanding of communication strategies or media relations will be advantageous.
